Beer #65 - Singha

I’ve featured a lot of lagers since starting this blog, far more than I’d anticipated writing about, although almost all of them were either drunk abroad or in a restaurant serving foreign cuisine. I don’t really have a lot of time for lager and tend to categorise them under two headings: ‘passable’ and ‘crap’. There are, however, one or two exceptions and Singha is one of them. It’s inextricably linked to Thailand and Thai food for starters, which is absolutely delicious whether you’re eating it in a beach hut on Koh Lanta, a street food stall in Bangkok or at a restaurant in the North Midlands. The latter of which happens to be where I drank this one. The beer itself gets quite a lot of stick on a well-known beer review website but I really do like it. I would very rarely order one when I’m not eating Thai food although on a hot summer’s day if I fancy a lager, this is my tipple of choice.
