Beer #2 - Colombo Golden Ale

This weekend I attended a wedding in Rugby. Unfortunately the wedding venue had a pitiful booze selection with not one decent beer available. Fortunately I took the opportunity to visit the excellent Rugby Tap, an independent beer shop specialising in ales local to the area. I had a chat with the owner and espoused my dislike for the current trend of citrus flavoured pale ales, then promptly bought two bottles of Colombo Golden Ale: 'rich earthy hoppiness with a citrus edge'. Idiot. Anyway I cracked one open on Sunday afternoon on my return to London, and thankfully it actually went down pretty well. The beer is brewed at Byatt's Brewery, a recently established (2011) brewery in Coventry. At the moment it seems that their beer is mostly stocked in the Midlands but I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for more of their beers.

Brewery: Byatt's Brewery
Country: United Kingdom
ABV: 4.3%
